Hey folks,

In this blog post, I’ll be writing about student developer communities that you should be part of during your college days.

But before getting into it, let's talk about why you should join these communities and programs.

Benefits to joining developer communities :

  • Networking: You will get to know a lot of people from different colleges and around the world as well, which also helps you to seek professional development opportunities. can give you an inside track into what’s happening in your industry and in your greater community. You can access people and information from experts who influence your field.
  • Resources: you will get access to high-quality resources and learning material. you get to use premium tools for free.
  • Mentorship: You will get guidance directly from professionals
  • Goodies: the juicy part of joining the community is that you will get exciting labeled goodies like T-shirts, hoodies, mugs, and much more interesting stuff.

Overall community experience will help to improve your leadership, management, and communication skills, you’ll get exposed to new perspectives and This will not only help you to be a better developer but also a better person.

Google developer student clubs :

The application procedure will have 2 rounds, there will be an interest form open once a year nearly around April-may, you’ll have to provide a link to your GitHub profile, Linkedin, Hackerrank, project, and if you have written any technical content. you will also have to provide a 1 min short video of yourself talking about why you want to be a google developer student clubs lead and how it will help you and your peers.

After your form got shortlisted you will go through an interview.

Github student developer pack: Github Student Developer Pack is a collection of different tools, software, services provided by GitHub for students to help in their software development journey.

MLH fellowship is a global 3-month internship alternative program where you will learn by working on real-world projects depending on the program (Explorer, Open Source, Externship) they are selected for and are assigned seasoned software development mentors to help them throughout the program.
